ABOUT THIS SITE

The Purpose
The ADHD Rating Scales Site is dedicated to a single goal - increasing the efficient use of ADHD rating scales in everyday clinical practice.

How It Works
1) Clinicians register for free on the site.
2) Clients are directed to this site by the clinician in order to complete a rating scale.
  a) Clients select the appropriate rating scale to complete from the site's Homepage.
  b) Clients are then asked to select their clinician from a list of all registered clinicians.
  c) Clients complete the rating scale online.
3) After the client completes the rating scale it is automatically scored and an email is sent to the clinician notifying them that the rating scale has been completed.
4) The clinician logs on the site and can either view the rating scale and report online or they can download the report (PDF) for their records.

The Rating Scales
SNAP-IV Rating Scale
This rating scale is among the most widely used rating scales for ADHD in children and youth. It has been used in scientific research related to the assessment and treatment of ADHD. Parents and teachers can complete the scale online in order to provide the clinician with multiple perspectives on the client's functioning. We have modified the scale somewhat in order to allow youth to self-report on their own symptoms as well.

Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS v1.1) Symptom Checklist (ASRS)
This is a well-established rating scale developed by the World Health Organization for adult ADHD screening. Research has shown the ASRS to be a highly sensitive and specific screener for ADHD in adults. Less than 1% of individuals without ADHD will score positive on the ASRS. This affords the clinician a high level of confidence that individuals screening positive for ADHD on the ASRS do indeed have ADHD.

Supplemental Clinical Information
Supplemental Information
Our online versions of the above scales also ask clients about recent physical symptoms in order to support the effective tracking of comorbid problems or treatment side effects. By obtaining this information at baseline the clinician is supported in their attempts to differentiate between pre-existing and treatment-related problems.

A short text field is provided to facilitate the client's communication of additional important clinical information.

Fees
At this time, there is no cost associated with using the site. The site was developed and continues to be maintained by the principle operator, Dr. Don Duncan. No funding support was received by Dr. Duncan in developing the site.
